10 Of The Best Instagrammable Spots In Thailand

Last Updated: December 5 2020

Thailand is seriously one of the most beautiful countries we have ever visited! From stunning scenery, gorgeous islands and incredible temples it really is a must visit for anyone wanting to travel. We found that there was always so much to see and do in Thailand, and we were always out and about visiting new places. There are so many stunning places to visit in Thailand that it is impossible to name them all, but here are 10 of our most Instagrammable spots in Thailand.

1. Wat Arun, Bangkok

Wat Arun is probably one of the most popular temples in Bangkok and for good reason! The details, colours and sheer size of this temple make it one of the best places to visit in Bangkok with your camera. We visited around 8am to try and beat the crowds, and it was definitely worth it. If you are looking for some Thai temple vibes for your insta, then Wat Arun is definitely for you!

2. Freedom Beach, Phuket

Freedom Beach is a secluded beach not too far from Patong in Phuket. You do have to pay an entrance fee to enter, but it is definitely worth it for the must less touristy part of Phuket! With gorgeous blue waters and gleaming white sands, this beach definitely has to be on our list of Instagrammable spots in Thailand.

3. White Temple, Chiang Rai

Do not make the same mistake as us and come here on the weekend, just don’t do it! Although we found this temple far too touristy for our liking, it is a great place to get some unique temple shots. The white temple in Chiang Rai is probably unlike any other temple you have seen, so enjoy it even with the crowds. There is a public bus that runs from Chiang Rai, but don’t count on it to leave on time haha!

4. Big Buddha,  Phuket

The Big Buddha is a must visit if you are staying in Phuket! Be mindful though that it is quite far out of the way, and the Tuk Tuk prices are extortionate here in comparison to other parts of Asia. The Big Buddha is absolutely huge, and also has gorgeous views of Phuket. We loved it here, so it was a no brainer to include it in this list of Instagrammable spots in Thailand.

5. Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple), Bangkok

This temple is a must see if you are visiting Bangkok! Our advice is to visit early (around 7am) as you can have the place pretty much to yourself! Wat Benchamabophit is probably one of our favourite temples that we have visited throughout Asia. We couldn’t stop taking photos of this incredible temple, and you won’t be able to either! The Marble temple is definitely one of the most Instagrammable temples in Thailand.

6. The Grand Canyon, Chiang Mai (Not the real one haha!)

Although definitely not as impressive as the original Grand Canyon haha, this is a cool place to relax for the day! There is a cafe on site, tubes, cliff jumps and so much space to have a swim.  There is also a zip line that you can do above the Canyon so there are plenty of activities to do! If you have a GoPro make sure you take it with you!

7. Pai, Thailand

This cute little town in Northern Thailand, definitely has all the Instagram vibes you could ask for! From groovy houses, gorgeous countryside and cool bridges there is plenty to take photos of. The best way to get around is to hire a scooter or if your uncomfortable doing this like us, hire a mountain bike! This is definitely one of the most Instagrammable spots in Thailand.

8. Volunteering with elephants, Chiang Mai

Although expensive and often needed to be booked in advance, spending a day with these gorgeous creatures is a must if you are staying in Chiang Mai. Along with spending time with these beautiful creatures, it is the perfect way to improve those wildlife shots, and of course to make everyone back home jealous! It is probably the best thing to do in Thailand, but make sure you do your research! There are plenty of unethical companies out there, who don’t care about the welfare of the elephants so choose wisely.

9. Kanchanaburi, Thailand

Kanchanaburi is an incredible place to visit in Thailand, and we recommend everybody to put it on your Thailand itinerary! From the history to the amazing riverside views, this place was one of our absolute favourites. Kanchanaburi has some absolute banger sunsets too, so if your looking for some crazy colours for your insta this is the place to go!

10. Wat Chedi Luang, Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai has so many amazing temples to visit, but this one was by far our favourite! The image below is only part of the complex you can visit, with Wat Chedi Luang being even more impressive. Thailand definitely has plenty of photogenic temples, but we really loved visiting this one!
